How do I apply?

  1. Contact the Research Governance and Ethics Officer to request the Research Proposal Form and review the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) Strategic Plan.
  2. Complete the Research Proposal Form and submit this to the Research Governance and Ethics Officer via email.

Please note: You may be asked to make changes, provide clarification, or attach additional documentation. Subject to any changes or requests, your submission will be accepted and referred to the REP for review.

How does the REP review applications?

Applications are reviewed via an online review forum.

How will I be notified of the outcome?

You will be notified of the REP’s decision via email after ~3 weeks, including advice on:

  1. Endorsement to progress to the next stage in the review process (HREC review); or
  2. Request for further information.

Should the REP request further information, you will be asked to respond to the queries via email.

Should the REP endorse your research proposal, you must then submit an application to the JH&FMHN Human Research Ethics Committee (Step 2) and for site-specific assessment or access request review (Step 5). All steps must be completed in order for you to commence research.
